3D Animation: Peer Critique

This video is an emotion animation created by Nadia Parfait. She animated the character changing from sullen to panic.

She expressed the emotion change very well. When I first watched this video, I did not know what emotion she was provided. I could understand that the character was annoyed because she was moving around and looking around restlessly. After she dropped the baby, she shook her hands slightly. These motions show the change from sullen to panic very well. Nadia also did good work tracing the motion. While she cradles the baby, the movement of her arms and hands is natural. The legs are expanded and compound naturally without snapping. The character’s facial expression also helped to express sullen and panic.

Because her motion trace and facial expression are well done, if she could move the baby  with the movement of the character’s arm, and if she traced more in detail and added a little more variation to the shaking hand part, this animation would be more fluid and natural.

Overall, this emotion animation is very smooth. The movement of walking around and looking around restlessly is effective to make the character realistic. The facial expression also makes the motion natural.
